A clever and comical bedtime poem, reminding us that everyone sleeps—even the president!
Author: Julie Markes
Illustrator: David Parkins
Length: 40 pages, 4-11 words per page
Word Choice: A simple rhyming, bedtime poem reminding a child that everyone is sleeping.
Illustrations: The paintings are brilliantly ridiculous, we were all pleasantly amused.
Read-aloud-ability: This book reads aloud well. It is short and sweet, and the rhyme scheme is straightforward and effective.
Additional thoughts: The illustrations are the highlight of this book. My kids loved pointing out funny things in each picture (like the bed made out of books and the farmer using a sheep as a pillow). Both of them loved it. If you are looking for a more humorous bedtime poem, this one is worth checking out!
